Advent Bible Reading Plan: Read Luke in 24 Days
One chapter a day, December 1 to 24
SaveLuke has 24 chapters, and December has 24 days before Christmas. It is one of the oldest and simplest Advent traditions: read one chapter a day, starting December 1, and finish on Christmas Eve with the empty tomb and the road to Emmaus.
Each chapter takes about five minutes. Below is the plan, with one King James verse from each day's chapter to hold onto, and a short prayer to begin with.
A prayer before you start
Lord,
This December, I want to spend more time with You than with my list. Meet me in Luke's pages, one chapter at a time.
When I miss a day, don't let me quit. When I'm tired, let Your Word be the quiet part of my day.
Let me reach Christmas knowing You a little better than I did on December 1.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
How to pray it
- Read one chapter of Luke each morning, December 1 to 24.
- Read the key verse below twice, slowly, after the chapter.
- Missed a day? Read two the next day, or just pick up where today is.
- On Christmas Eve, read Luke 24 and then Luke 2 again with your family.
