25 KJV Advent Bible Verses for Each Day of Advent
One verse for each day, December 1 to Christmas
SaveAdvent is the waiting before Christmas: four weeks of remembering how long God's people waited for the promised King, and how He came.
Here is one King James verse for each day. Start on December 1 and Day 25 lands on Christmas morning. Read the verse, sit with it for a minute, and say one sentence back to God. That's all. You don't have to be ready for Christmas to be ready for Him.
Week one: Hope
Day 1: Isaiah 9:2 (KJV)
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
Advent begins in the dark, with a promise of light.
Day 2: Isaiah 7:14 (KJV)
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Immanuel: God with us. Not watching from far away. With us.
Day 3: Micah 5:2 (KJV)
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
The King would come from a small town nobody expected.
Day 4: Isaiah 40:1 (KJV)
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Before the promise, comfort. God speaks tenderly first.
Day 5: Jeremiah 33:14 (KJV)
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
God keeps the good things He has promised, even after long years.
Day 6: Isaiah 11:1 (KJV)
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
New life from a cut-down stump. Nothing is too finished for God.
Day 7: Psalm 130:5 (KJV)
I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Waiting is not wasted when you are waiting on Him.

Week two: Peace

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Four names for the Child, and the last one is Prince of Peace.
Day 9: Luke 1:30 (KJV)
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
The first words to Mary: fear not.
Day 10: Luke 1:37 (KJV)
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Hold this one up against whatever looks impossible this year.
Day 11: Luke 1:38 (KJV)
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Mary's yes, before she understood how.
Day 12: Matthew 1:20 (KJV)
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Joseph was afraid too, and God spoke to him in it.
Day 13: Matthew 1:21 (KJV)
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
The name Jesus tells you why He came.
Day 14: Luke 1:45 (KJV)
And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Blessed is the one who believes God will do what He said.
Week three: Joy
Day 15: Luke 1:46-47 (KJV)
46And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
Mary's song starts with what God is like, not with her circumstances.
Day 16: Luke 1:68 (KJV)
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
God visited His people. He still comes close.
Day 17: Luke 1:78-79 (KJV)
78Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Light for those sitting in darkness, and a path to peace.
Day 18: Zephaniah 3:17 (KJV)
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
God rejoices over you with singing. Read that twice.
Day 19: Luke 2:7 (KJV)
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
No room in the inn. The King came anyway, to the humblest place.
Day 20: Luke 2:10 (KJV)
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. That includes you.
Day 21: Luke 2:14 (KJV)
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Heaven couldn't keep quiet about it.
Week four: Love
Day 22: Luke 2:15 (KJV)
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
The shepherds didn't wait. Let us now go and see.
Day 23: Luke 2:19 (KJV)
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
Mary kept these things and pondered them. Make room to ponder.
Day 24: John 1:14 (KJV)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. God came to live where we live.
Day 25: Luke 2:11 (KJV)
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Christmas morning: unto you is born this day a Saviour.
