Prayers for Anxiety
Anxiety is not a lack of faith. Many faithful people in Scripture were troubled, afraid and sleepless, and they prayed honestly about it. "Cast thy burden upon the LORD" assumes you are carrying one.
These prayers are short on purpose. When your chest is tight and your thoughts are racing, you don't need a long liturgy; you need a few true words. Pray one slowly, breathe, and then read the verses below. And if anxiety is wearing you down day after day, please also talk to a doctor or counselor. Getting help is not a failure of faith.
God,
my mind won't slow down. I keep running through everything that could go wrong, and my body is tired from bracing for it. You told me to be careful for nothing and to bring You everything, so here it is: the thing I'm afraid of, the thing I can't control, the thing I keep checking. I give it to You one more time. Give me Your peace that doesn't make sense on paper. Help me do just the next thing in front of me today.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
